(Newark, OH): The Licking County Historical Alliance recently met to finalize content for the 2011 Commemorative Guide for the county’s Civil War Sesquicentennial. Throughout 2011, this guide will serve multiple purposes to the public”, said Samantha Harris, Marketing Director of The Works. The guide includes a schedule of Civil War related events beginning in January 2011 and continuing through December. This schedule includes over fifty event dates as well as information regarding location, cost (if applicable), and a brief description. In addition, stories and photos of local Civil War heroes are interwoven throughout the guide to capture the humanitarian aspect of the war and tell the lesser known stories of triumph and tragedy on the battlefield and home front.
