Licking County's Civil War Sesquicentennial Off To A Great Start
(Newark, OH): The Licking County Historical Alliance enthusiastically launched the count's 2011 Civil War Sesquicentennial commemoration. Events began in January with the Newark Library's Ohio's Role in the Civil War exhibit and speaker Harry Watson as the first lecturer of the Winter Lecture Series at The Works. Both events drew record crowds of over 150 attendees. We are getting a great response from Licking County residents and beyond, said Samantha Harris, Director of Marketing at The Works. The Licking County Historical Alliance has become a leader and role model in respect to commemoration planning for numerous counties around the state of Ohio.
